The Kingdom is Righteousness…
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
What is Righteousness? What does it mean to be Righteous?
First it means BEING RIGHT WITH GOD!!!
Second it tells us that The Holy Spirit has now been “imparted” into our spirit making us a “New Creation”! We are “One” with The Holy Ghost!
Galatians 2:20 (ESV) I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
We, now, as a New Creation Man, have gone from spiritual death to spiritual life
John 5:24 “Truly, truly I tell you, the one who hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and does not come under judgment, but has passed from death to life.
The New Creation Man is a partaker of the Divine Nature
2 Peter 1:1 – 4 From Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a faith that is as valuable as ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. 2May grace and peace be yours in abundance through the full knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord! 3His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the full knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence. 4Through these (his own glory and excellence) he has given us his precious and wonderful promises, so that through them you are partakers in the divine nature, seeing that you have escaped the corruption that is in the world caused by evil desires.
And, the way we are “Right with God is by being JUSTIFIED…
That means that God looks at me “JUST AS IF I’D” never sinned!!!
Look at one of the most powerful portions of Scripture Paul ever wrote…
Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. 20For no one can ever be justified with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. 21But now God has shown us a way to be justified without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. 22God declares us righteous by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 23For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24Yet God, with undeserved kindness, He declares that we are justified. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
25For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice (propitiation) for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be justified in his sight when they believe in Jesus.
27Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are justified through faithand not by obeying the law. 29After all, is God the God of the Jews only? Isn’t he also the God of the Gentiles? Of course he is. 30There is only one God, and he justifies people by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.”
So we become Righteous when we believe in the sacrifice of Jesus!
We are then declared Justified by God…
So we can see Five Things here…
By faith in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross we are Righteous…
- Our sins are remitted and we are Justified – it’s “Just as if I’d” never sinned
- Our old nature is crucified with Christ on the cross
- We are now declared Righteous by our Faith in Jesus
- We now have Righteousness in our Spirit – God’s Divine Nature is in us
- All of the “precious and wonderful promises” of God are ours
So now it’s time to walk by faith!
Romans 1:16 – 17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God bringing salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17For in the Gospel the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
So let’s get right with God and then whatever level of faith you’re on it’s time to move to a new level!
If you have “No faith” – Get Saved and be declared Righteous
If you have “Some faith” – then consecrate yourself right now and move into a new level of faith
If you are “Walking by faith” – come up higher!
There’s something for everyone!
Once you do that you’re walking in the Kingdom of God…
The Kingdom of God is Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost!
