Micah 3:8 “…I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD”
God wants us to be “full of power by the Spirit of the Lord”!
Here’s the example I want you to remember to understand being “full of power by the Spirit of the Lord”!
We are like batteries… And we receive the “power” to do things from the Holy Spirit!
You know this microphone I’m using is powered by a battery. Your Ipod is powered by a battery. Flashlights are powered by batteries… there are so many things that we have that depend on the power of a battery!
We are spiritual batteries!
Take a look at these four batteries… can you hear them talking to each other?
One says; “I am full of power”! Another says; “So am I”!
Another says: “I hope I’m placed in something that makes a difference.”
The last one asks: “Do any of you believe in Destiny?”
The first one says: “If we get dropped and damaged there won’t be any destiny for us except the garbage pail!”
The second one says too: “If we sit on the shelf much longer we won’t have any power left in us to do anything.”
Then the third one says: “I sure hope I’m not used in anything that helps people be bad. I don’t want that to be my destiny!”
And the fourth one says: “Me either, I want to be used for the good things we were created for!”
Then they all said “Amen to that brother!”
You see, four things can happen to a battery…
- It can be damaged and the power will leak out.
We’re spiritual batteries and if that happens to us it’s because of sin in our lives. Disobedience or bad attitudes can damage us and the power of the Holy Ghost just leaks out!
- It can sit on a shelf and the power will drain out
If we’re sitting on the shelf too long and the power is draining out of us it’s because we’re lukewarm.
- It can be used in an application that, in God’s eyes, is sinful…
- It can be used in a good application and be used for good!
We’re just like those batteries. We have been created to do great things but like Peter a lot of us don’t have “the power” to do them.
Now, think of these batteries again…
These are not throwaway batteries. These are rechargeable batteries that can be used over and over again!
The Apostles and Disciples of the Lord were filled with the Holy Spirit over and over again!
On Pentecost they were filled with the Holy Spirit in the Upper Room and in Acts 4:31 they were “recharged”!
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
And Paul tells us exactly how to hook ourselves up to be recharged over and over again!
Ephesians 5:15 – 20 “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We can be filled with the Holy Ghost and power and be used of the Lord over and over again as long as we keep coming back for a refilling of the Spirit!
Ask The Lord to fill you!
