Directing The Glory

Directing The Glory

In this message you will learn how to put your faith into action with your words, “calling the things that are not as though they were”!

In Isaiah chapter 6 we are given a view of God’s Glorious Throne in an “Open Heaven”

What is “Glory”?

Where can you get it?

Can you buy it at the store? “Hi, I’d like a jar of glory please.”

You can’t buy it… it’s not for sale!

If we are going to get to the place where we’re sitting under an Open Heaven we have to understand the nature of heaven…

*An “Open Heaven” is not an accident…*

God is not sitting on His Throne asking Michael when is the last time He poured out His Spirit upon you…

Let’s look at Glory…

God is invisible so when He manifests His Presence it is done in Glory…

Glory appears usually as light, fire, water, a cloud or smoke

Ezekiel 1:28                           He saw the glory as a glowing halo

Zechariah 2:5                        He saw the glory as a wall of fire

Habakkuk 2:14                     He saw the glory as as waters that covered the sea

1 Kings 8:10 – 11                    They saw the glory as the cloud that filled the house of the LORD

Isaiah 6:1 – 4                          He saw the glory as the smoke that filled the temple of God

*What is the word “Glory”?*

In the OT Kabod is the major word translated Glory

Something weighty which gives importance…

wealth, abundance, treasure, honor, dignity…

splendor, brightness, majesty, grandeur, beauty…

The New Testament word for Glory is “Doxa”

    1. First it implies a thought or belief that becomes something spoken or sung.
    2. It also takes on all the meanings of the Hebrew word Kabod.
    3. And it implies power

When you take these two words and put them together you get:

***A thought or belief that expresses itself through the mouth or hands (with instruments) that supernaturally creates or produces the atmosphere in which a Throne is made for God to manifest His Presence where He will sit and do “Kingdom business”.***

Look at this…

Psalms 30:11 – 12      “You turned my mourning into dancing: You took off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto You forever.”

What did David mean “that my glory may sing praises unto God”?

Listen to this OT Scripture and then listen to it in the NT

Psalm 16:9     “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope.”

Acts 2:26        “Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope”

*The word tongue is translated glory because we use our tongue to give glory to God.*

And we can use instruments too!

Psalm 57:7- 11            My heart is steady, God; my heart is steady. I will sing and praise you. Wake up, my soul. Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn. Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing songs of praise about you to all the nations. Your great love reaches to the skies, your truth to the clouds. God, you are supreme above the skies. Let your glory be over all the earth.

David understood the relationship between Praise and Glory when he said that the Lord inhabits our praise in Psalm 22:3

*Have you heard of “the Key of David”?*

Revelation 3: 7            “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth”

It’s one of the “Keys of the Kingdom”…

Matthew 16:19            “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”

Directing the Glory…

Psalm 5:1-3 “Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning I will direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”

In Hebrew this Psalm is called a Tehillah

Tehillah means “a song of glory

David also talks about directing his prayer

That’s the word Tephillah

Tephillah means “a prayer that is sung”.

Paul had a revelation about these two Hebrew words:

1 Corinthians 14:15I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”

We need to use our understanding when we sing and when we pray we can “Direct the Glory”!

To Direct = to put in order, to arrange things for a battle

*Glory can be used as a Spiritual Weapon*

2 Corinthians 10:4    “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds”

There is a revelation of this in the Book of Job

Job 28:1-4 & 10-11 “Surely there is a vein of silver, and a place for gold where they refine it. {2} Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten from stone. {3} He sets an end to darkness, and searches out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death. {4} The flood breaks out from the banks; the waters are soon forgotten: they are dried up, they vanish… {10} He cuts out rivers among the rocks; and his eye sees every precious thing. {11} He binds the floods from overflowing; and He uncovers the hidden things bringing them to light.”

The vein of silver and of gold is in the earth. They are not lying on the ground but must be dug out of it. In order for us to discover the silver and the gold we need to bind the floods from overflowing and direct them so they cut paths out of the mountains and then our eyes will see every precious thing.

The old time miners would first pan for gold in the rivers to find where the river had cut out the precious gold or silver. Then they would know where to dig.

Matthew 16:18-19 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

We need to see a new application to “binding and loosing”… we need to “bind the floods” with prophetic declarations and “loose hidden blessings” like silver and gold in the earth!

The banks of a river bind it and direct it so it flows in a certain direction. We need to think of Praise and Prayer as the “spiritual banks” of the River of God that bind it and direct it.

Without two banks a river turns into a lake or worse, a swamp. The Glory we release here through prayers and praise must not become like a lake or a swamp.

It must be directed so it uncovers the silver = salvation, and the gold = God’s will, purposes and blessings! We don’t want the Glory to break out of the banks and then be “soon forgotten and: dried up!”

Once we see that we can “direct the flow” we can then send it with prophetic declarations wherever we desire it to go! Can you see the river cutting through everything so it uncovers the silver and the gold of God’s Glory.

When we use our faith and prophetically direct our Praise and Prayer we “bind the flood”.

Remember the Roman Centurion?

He said to Jesus: “You don’t need to come to my house… Just say the word and my servant will be healed”. He had faith that Jesus could “Direct His Prayer” and send the Glory of God that heals to his servant!

When we bind the flood or Glory and direct it we make it powerful! It becomes like a fire hose rather than a garden hose!

We can reach places that are far away and the water, the Glory, is not “soon forgotten: dried up, vanished!

We want to make our prayers TEHILLAH’s… Song’s of Glory!

We want to do Spiritual Warfare by using Glory as a Spiritual Weapon and Direct it where it is needed!

Let’s put on the “Whole Armor of God” and do some “Kingdom Business”!

We can “Direct the Glory” so the Blessings of God are Uncovered For Us!

Psalms 103 says:       “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”

We are going to “Direct the Glory” where we need it!

If you have a loved one you can “Direct the Glory” to them!

Do you need forgiveness?                             His blood cleanses us from sin!

Do you need to be healed?                            By His Stripes we are healed!

Do you need to be set free?                           He redeems my life from destruction!

Do you need the power of God?                  We are more than a conqueror in Jesus!

Do you need financial blessings?                He gives me the power to get wealth!

Do you need wisdom?                                     God gives wisdom liberally to us!

Do you want the Abundant Life?                Jesus came to give it to us

Do you need to Jesus as your Savior?

Then now is the time to ask for forgiveness believing that Jesus died for you and rose from the dead and be Born Again!
